Lose Your But

"Nothing will be impossible for you." -Jesus Christ (Matt. 17:20)

Linaya and I recently felt prompted to give above our usual tithe amount. This conviction came at a point in life when we really needed the money for our own needs. We had been praying for a miracle and knew we had to give flight to our faith by obediently giving over and beyond. With confidence, we decided to sow a financial seed of faith by prayerfully committing our offering and expecting the impossible. Needless to say, God not only repaid our seed of faith sown with much financial fruit but in ways far beyond our expectation.

Scripture says that nothing is impossible if you believe it so. I have heard it said that expectation is the breeding ground for miracles. Jesus said so Himself when he said, "Just believe" (See Luke 8:50 for full context). So my question for you today is this: What are you expecting in 2012?

Whatever you are hoping for, know that it will at some point be challenged with an opposing factor. When pressed, it is far too easy to replace His powerful Word with a pessimistic will. Pessimism says:

  • I would love to start giving tithe, but I can't afford it.
  • I feel lead to sow a financial seed of faith into a ministry, but I really need the money and could use it this month.
  • I long for my body to be whole, and I really do believe in divine physical healing, but I don't know if it's His will to cure me from my disease.
  • I'd love to see breakthrough in my life, but I've got too many personal issues.
  • I would give anything to receive that promotion and get a raise at work, but it will probably never happen. And there's no way I could possibly do everything the job requires of me.

The only thing getting in the way of you receiving your answer, experiencing a miracle, and moving forward this year is your "but."

Yes, Linaya and I took a step of faith when we sowed our seed. We had no idea who, what, when, why or how we would experience fruition. It took faith by believing His Word. Let me tell you that the answer to our prayer came at the right time. We have continually learned that you can only get if you give and the fruit received is a direct result of faith given through action. I don't know exactly what your need is today but I know you do. So what is it going to be? Will you doubt or depend on God, be afraid or believe, fear or have faith for what you are expecting? Even though it may seem impossible, it is possible with God.

Today is the first day of the best days of your life. 2012 is a year of miracles. Declare it to be a year of breakthrough and blessing. Decree it to be a year full of health and wholeness. Start today by confidently letting your request be made known to God. Now is the time to expect a miracle moment, so believe it and receive it. Sow a seed by saying it before you see it. Let your faith loose - this is a new year for a new you! Who really cares what others may think or say about how you can't and won't? Release your faith by prayerfully professing the promises of God found in His Word. Be encouraged to lose your "but," make your move, overcome the mountain that has had you debilitated for far too long, and live life to the fullest.

Together we can make it a great day!
